WestconGroup Set To ENGAGE With New Partner Technology Summit

Crawley, 27th August, 2015. WestconGroup Inc., a value-added distributor of category-leading security, unified communications and collaboration, network infrastructure and data centre solutions, targets channel awareness and readiness with a brand new multi-channel technology summit for UK VARs and SIs at London’s Grange St Paul’s Hotel on Thursday, 15th October.

The event, codenamed ‘ENGAGE2015,’ is the first of its kind for WestconGroup as its teams from the Comstor, Westcon Security and Westcon Unified Communications and Collaborations practices jointly host a full day of solution-selling seminars and vendor exhibitions. The vendor line-up includes Avaya, Cisco, F5, Juniper, Microsoft, Oracle, Palo Alto, Plantronics, Polycom and many more.

“This is the first time WestconGroup has brought its full portfolio of category-leading vendors together for a UK partner event like this,” comments Tony Nevill, General Manager UK&I for WestconGroup. “Rarely do value-added distributors run events that are focused on thought-leadership. Rather than a typical distributor showcase, we are focusing on sales leadership and partner development.

“We see our partners increasingly looking to undertake a consultative approach with both new and existing customers, offering solutions to address their day-to-day business challenges. At ENGAGE2015 we will not only present the latest technologies for partners’ consideration but also task presenters with demonstrating how they solve those business challenges, identify how partners can exploit disruptive trends such as the increasing number of hacking threats and realise recurring revenues whilst differentiating their proposition.”

A hot topic amongst the security vendors will be the increasing wave of cyber-attacks facing all organisations and how partners should capitalise on offering pre- and post-attack services. With mobility now a mainstream requirement, high capacity wireless networks need intelligent load balancing and threat protection as standard but is there a trade-off between security and performance? Another focus will be on the changing formats of video collaboration as Microsoft releases its new large-format Surface Hub while other vendors increasingly look at desktop video apps and webRTC.

ENGAGE2015 is set to be a hot-bed of discussion and new business ideas. Partners can find out more at westcon.com/engage
